Help Protect Yourself, Your Family, and Your Community

Flu season will soon be upon us. Here are some helpful tips from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to keep you, your family, and others healthy:

  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
  • Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
  • If you are sick with a flu-like illness, stay home for 7 days after your symptoms begin or until you have been symptom-free for 24 hours, whichever is longer, except to seek medical care or for other necessities. Keep away from other household members as much as possible. This is to keep you from infecting others and spreading the virus further.
  • Stay informed. Health officials will provide additional information as it becomes available. Visit the CDC H1N1 Flu website http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu

In addition, please make sure the contact information on your child’s emergency card is up to date. If the school notifies you that your child is ill, please pick him or her up as soon as possible.

Donors Choose

DonorsChoose.org is an online charity that makes it easy for anyone to help students in need. Teachers submit proposals and then donors submit financial support. After going to the DonorsChoose website click on Projects to search first by state, then by district and then by school for a current listing of proposals. Thank you for supporting our students.
